Excelling within Nursing with LPN to RN Bridge Programs
An LPN to RN bridge program is a transitional program that is used by LPNs that wish to become more advanced and skilled in their training in order to become registered nurses. These programs are available to only LPNs that are certified and willing to do the work necessary to become a higher level nurse within the health care arena. These programs are available through various nursing schools as well as many higher level educational institutions for health care professionals, and are completed through coursework that involves various health care and nursing related classes.
Why Take LPN to RN Bridge Program?
Licensed practical nurses that feel that they have become established and skilled within their field, and have a good base of knowledge towards the career, may wish to take the next step towards a higher level career of a registered nurse, or RN. Even though some may not see a large difference between an LPN and an RN, there is a great difference behind the scenes. Not only is the education and certification process more advanced for an RN, there are also many more opportunities provided to RNs that are properly licensed and certified. An LPN is a rewarding career, but if you want to do more and be the best within the field, becoming an RN is the most logical and rewarding next step to be taken.
What is Involved?
When attending the LPN to RN bridge program, there are many elements involved, one of the most essential being the NCLEX-RN exam, or the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses. This is the national stardardized test that is required to be completed by all RNs. The test measures many aspects of your knowledge base including:
• Medical Knowledge
• Nursing Capabilities
• Eligibility for earning RN license
The LPN to RN bridge programs are not the only training provided for nursing advancement, as there are also various other degrees such as the LPN to BSN and the RN to BSN. Entering the nursing field is a strongly structured career that will pay off greatly in many ways, but advancement is necessary for the most potential within the health care industry. Although the responsibilities are similar, there are great differences in terms of the various rewards, compensation, and experience as well as expertise that will be gained from advancing from an LPN to take an RN transition course. Getting the best out of your future means going as far as you can go.
