This is particularly important if you are looking for the skills to get a job immediately. Of course, RNs make about twice as much money as LPNs. However, just because you become an LPN, it doesn't mean that you can never obtain a second degree and continue moving up the hierarchy.

2. Excellent Stepping Stone

One of the best reasons that an LPN is so valuable is that it may be the best stepping stone to a full RN. Once you are in a hospital practicing medicine as an LPN, you will be gaining valuable real world experience about how the healthcare industry really works. You will be working with real patients and real doctors on a day-to-day basis. While you are working as an LPN, there is absolutely no reason that you couldn't be taking RN classes online. Furthermore, these classes may seem trivial to you because you have the experience. You'll be able to breeze through these classes with flying colors.
